Owner and Executive Chef Philip Doyal has more than 20 years of experience
in the restaurant industry. He worked in restaurants throughout high school, then graduated at the top of his class from the California Culinary Academy
of San Francisco.

He returned to Texas and served as executive chef at the San Antonio Country Club for 10 years. Today he brings his culinary skills to the Frisco community, marrying family recipes with modern techniques .

Owner and Pastry Chef Christina Doyal bakes the pastries and cakes served
at BarnLight Eatery. Christina began her culinary career as a pastry cook at Moose’s Café in San Francisco. She has honed her skills at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and as a Pastry Chef in San Antonio at the Plaza Club
and the San Antonio Country Club.

Christina graduated from Southwest Texas State University with
a Bachelor of Science degree in family and child development.

Family owned by sixth generation Texans

Philip and Christina are sixth generation Texans. The passionate duo has been cooking since they could reach
the stove–or, actually, a little before. From the moment his mother found him standing on a chair scrambling eggs at age four, Philip has carried on the tradition of hearty, wholesome food shared with family and friends.

Fresh traditions founded on a history of Texas ranch cooking

Philip follows in the footsteps of his grandmother, who is remembered for the hot meals she served to the cowboys on the ranch where Philip’s grandfather was foreman. Eating on tin plates beside a windmill, the men enjoyed what would have passed as a Sunday dinner in most households.

Everyone is welcome to taste the Texas love. Pull up a chair in our rustic-modern dining room, or take in the sunshine and starry evenings on our outdoor patio. Kids are always invited and our special menu just for children has healthy options that will have them scraping the plate. Adults can savor a variety of local wines, signature cocktails,
and local beer from our craft bar.

Christina bakes the decadent desserts every morning. Enjoy her sweet treats as the final touch to a perfect meal, or order a pastry or cake to take home. Christina’s custom cakes are hand crafted in our kitchen, and are the perfect way to celebrate special occasions, or add a little delight to the every day. Place your order ahead for an individualized cake
designed for you and your event.
